Howdy friends! Welcome to the Helmar Holiday Hop! Today I have a fun little count down to Christmas wall hanging to share (and yes... I do believe there might be some teal in this project)!
I created a little Cricut calendar template as a class for my LSS (The Little Blue House) about a month ago!
The template is has 31 little spaces for the dates so it can be used for any month of the year!
I'll share real quick how I created this project and then you can hop along to the next blog!
Firstly...
I started with an 11 x 14 inch stretched canvas and painted it with a variety of greens (Folk Art Forest Moss and Yellow Citron). I then added a beige color (Folk Art Country Twill) as a dry brush accent over the top of the whole canvas.
Nextly...
I cut my calendar template using brown card stock paper (I used Sure Cuts a Lot and a custom .svg file that I created in Adobe Illustrator)!
If you are interested in purchasing one of these calendar templates, contact The Little Blue House!)
I sprayed a small section of the back of my template with Helmar V2 Vellum Adhesive Spray and filled in each little window with a piece of paper that was slightly larger than the space it was filling. The spray adhesive works perfectly for this task as the lines between each window are kinda thin!
I did this for all 31 little windows - spraying and filling as I went!
Once I had all of the windows filled, I then used my Helmar 450 Quick Dry glue to adhere the calendar to my painted canvas!
...now for the fun part...
I used a variety of numbers from more manufacturers than I can even count... and filled in each window of my calendar! Even though the numbers all had sticky backing... I added Helmar's 450 Quick Dry glue behind each one for added gluey grip! I want my wall hanging to last for years and years and the sticky backing on the numbers tends to dry out over time!
I also added various chipboard elements to match with my papers (all papers and chipboard pieces are from the Crate Paper - Snow Day Collection (my very most favorite holiday paper line on the entire planet))!
I created little scenes in each corner and added buttons too!
I used Helmar's Zap Dots to pop up various elements thoughout the project!
Lastly...
I wanted to share a peep of a calendar project from one of my students! It's utterly FABULOUS (like make you drop your mouth open and gasp fabulous)!!!
This little winter wonderland was created by Linn (Hi Linn)!
...and the photo does not even remotely do it justice!
Linn added Snow Tex and glitter along the top!!!
(Thanks to Linn, Snow Tex is my latest obesssion!!!)
(how do you think Snow Tex would do as sammich spread...???)
(hmmmm... so tempting... so snowtastic!!!)
Some of the little windows are filled with glitter paper and the numbers are all from a Martha Stewart punch (which I am seriously wanting in a bad way)!
The whole piece has loads of snowflake gems and glitter!
It's really really fabulous!!!
(thanks for sharing your project with me Linn)!
Sooo... that's all she wrote!!!
Helmar Holiday HUGS friends and big thanks for joining me!
P.S. Make sure you leave a comment on every blog in the hop for a chance to win some Helmar goodies... and then keep on hopping to the next blog by following the Helmar Holiday Hop image above!!!
I usually give most of my projects to my friends and family! My house is just not big enough to house them all! hehehe
HUGS Jules!!!!
